3 Day Shakeology Cleanse Results

You want to know my results? I’ll give you the run down. 🙂

First, I was not hungry during the cleanse. This part really surprised me. I had wanted to do this cleanse back in November but was too chicken to go for it. I’m really glad I gave it a try because it was not some awful experience to be endured like I thought.

Instead, I found myself feeling really physically good during the three days. I lost all the bloat in my belly. I had no indigestion, and I did not miss that overly full “oh my god I ate way too much at lunch” feeling I get sometimes. My energy level was pretty good too. I was able to workout each day, although I cut my run on day two a little short because my legs felt tired.

Since I’ve done the cleanse, I’ve gotten my sugar and junk food cravings under control! I resisted cupcakes and ice cream at work yesterday and wasn’t even tempted! That is huge for me. I feel like I got my willpower back, and that I’ve conditioned myself back to craving a fresh salad with vinegar/oil rather than heavy ranch dressing.

Now for the measurable results. This is my starting weight on day one.

And this was my weight on the morning of day four. (The morning after the cleanse ended.)

Yep, that’s 5.5 lbs gone. Also gone are 3 inches from my waist!

(Excuse the yucky feet picture. I know I need a pedicure. I’m a runner, remember? We have gross feet!)

Other things to know about the cleanse…It is not one of those things where you’re going to be running to the bathroom all day long. I was drinking a lot of water, so I did have to pee more than usual. But there was no upset stomach, cramping, loose stools, etc. I was just totally normal in that regard. 😉

Overall, I’m glad I did it and I got the results I was wanting. I’ll update next week to see if any of those pounds fined me again.

3 Day Shakeology Cleanse, Day 2 Recap and Results

Two-thirds of the way done, folks! Down 2.5 lbs and 1.5 inches off my waist. I feel good too. I had a little headache off and on today, but it wasn’t bad enough to take any medicine for it. I found myself wanting to eat throughout the day today. I wasn’t hungry, but mentally, I just wanted to eat something. I started craving carbs in the afternoon too. Popcorn, cereal, crackers, that sort of thing. I’ve gone low carb in the past, and I know those carb cravings disappear if I can just wait them out. And they did. 🙂

Here’s my recap for the day.

7:30: Tropical Shakeology blended with water, ice, half a banana and coconut extract
8:15: Full cup of coffee with splash of half-n-half. I had the start of a caffeine-withdrawl headache so I splurged with a full cup.
Green tea mid-morning
11:30: Salad with mixed greens, cukes, cauliflower, tomatoes, chopped chicken breast and vinegar/oil. This was delicious and really filling. I’m surprised I’ve been satisfied with the vinegar/oil dressing as I am a total ranch dressing addict normally.
Green tea mid-afternoon
5:00: 2 mile run/walk. The muscles in my legs felt a little tired after 1.5 miles, so I walked the last bit. I didn’t feel tired like I needed sleep, but more fatigued like I’d worked my muscles really hard the day before. I think it’s the lack of carbs making me feel this way.
6:00: Tropical Shakeology with water, half a banana.
7:00: Salad greens with vinegar. I felt the need to eat something mentally. I wanted something savory to balance out the sweetness of the Shakeology I’d had earlier. I felt like salad greens were a better choice than fruit, with less sugar and more fiber.
9:30: I’m drinking a Chocolate Shakeology now, blended with water, ice and mint extract. Tastes like a Thin Mint cookie drink. 🙂 I’m actually not hungry at all, but I think it’s important to get the three shakes in each day for the health benefits of the super food ingredients.

I’m excited to finish out the cleanse tomorrow and report back with my final results on Thursday!

PS-I don’t intend for this blog to be primarily about Shakeology or Beachbody. However, both are big parts of my health and wellness journey, so you’ll see them mentioned from time to time. 😉
